The slinky rhythm, woozy horns, Jacques Willis's spine-tingling vibraphone motif, and Tomer Zuk's serpentine organ solo cohere into a graceful journey to enchantment. Flipside "Gazing Lovingly" is suffused in a sublime nocturnal glow reminiscent of Faze-O's "Riding High" while strutting in slow-motion to a funky drummer (Grant Schroff) who has ice in his veins."

In the spirit of Mulatu Astatke and Hailu Mergia, the Joel Ricci helmed L.B.'S, close out our Funkways Series of 45's with an homage to Ethio-Jazz with "Of August Countenance" (featuring members of our newly signed VuVuVu) on Side A, and a smoldering laid back smoker of a B-Side, "Gazing Lovingly" dubbed up by none other than Rezin Tooth.
